High Country Disposal Receives "New Product Award"

High Country Disposal received the "New Product Award" at this years Redmond Chamber of Commerce Annual Awards Banquet held at Eagle Crest Resort in Redmond.

The new product award was for High Country Disposal's new food waste collection program that is offered to their commercial customers within the city of Redmond. This new program provides Redmond commercial customers another opportunity to further reduce their waste, recycle more and keep organic waste out of the landfill. The food waste material is collected, composted and converted into rich organic soil.

The food waste material will be composted by Deschutes Recycling and is the only facility in Central Oregon and the second facility in the state to be permitted to accept food waste material.

“Food waste is a significant amount of the waste stream and we are excited to be able to recycle it and offer collection services to our commercial customers,” said Brad Bailey, president High Country Disposal.
