For High Country Disposal customers who require a Christmas tree pick up after January 10, High Country Disposal will collect trees on the customer's garbage day the week of January 11 - 15 for a $5 charge. Just set the tree out next to the garbage roll cart. Trees free of tinsel and flocking will be recycled.
For city of Redmond and city of Sisters customers with curbside yard debris service, customers can recycle their Christmas tree in their yard debris cart. Tree need to be cut down to 3 or 4 smaller pieces to fit in the yard debris cart.
Additional Christmas Tree Recycling Options:
At no charge, Negus Transfer Station in Redmond will take Christmas trees Monday – Sunday, through January 31. Other locations include Northwest Transfer Station between Tumalo and Sisters, Deschutes Recycling located at Knott Landfill and Southwest Transfer Station located between Sunriver and La Pine. Contact the Department of Solid Waste for transfer station hours at 541-317-3163. Trees cannot have tinsel or flocking.

High Country Disposal Offers New Service for E-Waste Collection
Beginning January 1, 2010 - computers (desktops & laptops), monitors and TVs cannot be disposed of in the garbage or at disposal sites such as landfills.
Residents can still bring these items to Negus Transfer Station in Redmond or Deschutes Recycling located at Knott Landfill in Bend for recycling at no charge.
In addition, High Country Disposal is offering a new service and will come out to the household and collect the e-waste items such as TVs, computers and monitors for a nominal fee.

High Country Disposal's Holiday Collection Schedule
High Country Disposal collects on all holidays except for Christmas Day and New Years Day.
High Country Disposal's Friday customers are the only customers affected by the holiday schedule. Regular garbage and recycling collection on Friday for both holiday weeks (12/25 & 1/1), will be one day late and will be serviced on Saturday (12/26 & 1/2).
Customers should have their carts out by 6:00 a.m.
High Country Disposal's office will be closed on Christmas Day and New Years Day and will re-open on the following Monday of both weeks at 8:00 a.m.

High Country Disposal's Office located at 1090 NE Hemlock Avenue will be closing at 3:00pm on Friday, December 4, 2009.

City Yard Debris Collection Service is On-Call for December & January
For High Country Disposal's city yard debris customers, yard debris collection will be an on-call service for the months of December 2009 and January 2010.
Customers need to call High Country Disposal whenever their yard debris cart is full to schedule a pick up for the following Friday. Customers still receive up to two collections per month.
Yard debris every-other-week collection service will resume in February 2010.
