Effective August 16, 2010, the Sisters Recycling Depot will have New Operating Hours.
The Sisters Recycling Depot will still be open 7 Days-A-Week
New Hours will be:
Open 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
(no longer open 24 hours)
This is in response to cutbacks in the Deschutes County Solid Waste program budget for recyclable hauling.
The county provided funding to start these programs and helped make them successful. Unfortunately with the county budget cuts; the funding is no longer available.
Reducing the hours the depot is open is a cost cutting measure required to keep the depot operating because of this loss in funding.

In 1999, The Bailey and Crownover Family purchased High Country Disposal located in Redmond. They have grown to 27 employees. The Company has expanded curbside recycling services and introduced curbside yard debris recycling within the city limits.
High Country Disposal services the communities of Redmond, Terrebonne, Sisters, Black Butte Ranch and Camp Sherman.
HCD offers residential and commercial garbage & recycling, drop boxes, rent-a-bins, medical waste collection and document destruction.
Additionally, the ownership group owns and operates Bend Garbage & Recycling and Deschutes Recycling located at Knott Landfill.
The Company is dedicated to bettering our community by supporting charitable endeavors and participating in various community boards and service groups. Charitable efforts are focused on family, seniors, children, education and annual community events that support these areas.
The long-term vision for all companies is to keep it family owned. Children and grandchildren are already working after school and during the summer at the business, setting the stage for the next generation to continue the legacy.
